The Owner

Mark Cucarola grew up in the construction industry in his father’s residential construction business–working as laborer, gopher, crew framer and supervisor.

While still in high school, Mark borrowed construction financing from the local bank to build and sell two of his own spec homes. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and then his MBA in finance in 1985 from Colorado State University.

For the next seven years, Mark spent his time travelling extensively in the corporate management consulting world. His primary clients consisted of large and medium sized general contractors, developers and trade contractors throughout United States and Canada.

He developed expertise focusing on business turnarounds, organizational management, project management systems and productivity improvement. During his consulting career, Mark wrote several articles on various topics within the construction industry, led construction seminars, and gained recognition as a respected guest speaker before construction trade associations and industry conferences.

Armed with his consulting experience and seeing many development opportunities taking shape on the Colorado Front Range, Mark decided to leave the corporate world and start his own construction business. The beginnings of Platinum Homes, LLC was created in mid-1992. Since then, Mark’s unique and varied business experience has helped steer Platinum Homes through many market ups and downs, while gaining a solid reputation for luxury custom home design and construction resulting in a long list of satisfied customers.

As owner of Platinum Homes, Mark is committed to making sure our clients are well informed prior to beginning the home building process, presented with the latest energy efficient technologies, provided cost efficient project management, guided to make smart value based decisions, and — last but not least — to ensure a fun and enjoyable home building client experience.

Mark is actively involved in a number of outside community organizations and currently serves as a Board of Director for the Colorado Geo Energy Association.
